Austin Graham is excited to bring is passion and enthusiasm of teaching cello to JAMS Music. Austin has been proudly teaching cello privately in the San Francisco East and South Bay Area for over six years. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at California State University, East Bay in Music Theory and Composition. Students can expect lessons to focus on technical attention-to-detail, fundamentals of music theory, performance etiquette, and melodic mastery. Lessons are given at a relaxed and mindful take-at-your-pace setting.
Beginning students start with a Suzuki method book chosen to fit the student’s abilities to acquaint them with technical fundamentals and memorization. Duets and concertos replace method books for intermediate students after Volume 4, with heavy emphasis on melodic development and higher-level technique. Advanced students have more freedom of performance material and technical focus, depending on what musical path they wish to pursue.
Austin also offers one-on-one lessons in music theory and songwriting. These lessons are a boon for students wanting an edge in their music performance classes, and for aspiring artists looking to discover their musical voices early.
Students aged 8 years and older welcome. Austin is available on Saturday.
