How It Works:

• Lessons are billed monthly on the 1st of every month (effective January 2024). Mid-month signups are prorated.

  • $199.99/month for 30-minute weekly lessons

  • $289.99/month for 45-minute weekly lessons

  • $359.99/month for 60-minute weekly lessons (savings of $40/month when compared to two 30-minute lessons)

• Lessons are once-a-week, here in our private lesson studio, on the same day and time every week. Consider this when choosing a time that will be the most convenient for your schedule. All students above age 8 are welcome - certain teachers will teach below age 8 per their discretion.

• Monthly tuition covers all lessons in the month, regardless of how many weeks there are in the month. Your tuition may cover 3, 4, or 5 lessons per month.

• Annual registration fee of $25 is collected upon sign-up to help us cover our administrative costs. This is strictly non-refundable.

• Upon your first lesson, you’ll receive our nifty JAMS Music Lessons Package which includes a reusable carrying bag, manuscript book, reusable water bottle, and JAMS pencil.

• As a general rule, there are no makeup lessons for missed lessons (a lesson that is skipped) regardless of reason, unless in case of family medical emergency. However, your teacher at their discretion, may offer you the opportunity to reschedule a missed lesson within a two week period. The opportunity for a rescheduled lesson is not guaranteed. Out of courtesy for your teacher, we kindly ask that if you are going to miss a lesson, please notify JAMS Music or your teacher directly at least 24 hours ahead of your lesson time.

• If a teacher misses a lesson on a regularly scheduled day that our store is open, you may:

  • Be offered to bank your lesson to be rescheduled lesson at a later date

  • Have your current/next billing cycle adjusted at a reduced rate

  • Be refunded for the lesson

A big difference with our program is that JAMS Music teacher are employees of our company. After years of working with independent contractors, we decided it would be best to have the teaching staff and store work more closely together to provide more enjoyable and successful experience for the students.

Plus, our teachers not only spend their time giving lessons, but are also active, working musicians in the community. Their real-life experiences prepare students to apply their music skills in real situations like gigging, jamming, studio sessions, high school, college, and more.

In addition to great teachers, we have the best lesson rooms in the East Bay that feature insulated walls, sound diffusion panels, crisp clean lighting, large windows on the doors, and air conditioning. You’ll feel right at home!

Changes to our lesson program are subject to change at any time. We will always make our best effort to keep our policies current and notify our customers of any changes.
