Alex Attard is an accomplished piano and saxophone instructor and excited to be part of the JAMS Music teaching staff. An incredible talent, Alex has been teaching private piano and saxophone lessons in the Bay Area for over ten years, and playing for over fifteen years. His strong work ethic and commitment to his student’s excellence and enjoyment has made him a sought after instructor. He has a unique way to connect with students starting as young as five years old to bring out the most of their ability and help develop an appreciation for music.
While keeping the learning experience enjoyable, Alex focuses on proper technique, ear training, music theory, music history, and improvisation. He is equally interested and a confident instructor in classical and jazz styles of piano. You’ll get a comprehensive, well-rounded education of piano or saxophone when studying with Alex.
Alex most recently earned his Masters Degree in Saxophone Performance from Cal State University, East Bay after completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Jazz Saxophone & Flute Performance also from Cal State University, East Bay. He’s studied privately with top saxophone instructors in the Bay Area including Guido Fazio and Dann Zinn. Alex looks forward to working with you!
Chris Almada

Christopher Almada is a highly accomplished performing musician and dedicated educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. With a journey that began at a young age, he has earned acclaim from some of the most prestigious institutions in the industry. As a young musician, Christopher Almada distinguished himself by being selected for numerous youth all-star groups, showcasing not only his talent but also his dedication to his craft. His playing caught the attention of recruiters from Berklee College of Music in Boston, leading to a scholarship that opened the doors to a world-class musical education. During his time at Berklee, he studied music performance, honing his skills and deepening his understanding of the art of music. Christopher's musical journey has taken him to stages of all sizes, from local festivals such as the San Jose Jazz Festival, San Francisco Jazz Festival, and the Monterey Jazz Festival, to other large events around the United States, including the Bean Town Jazz Festival.
Christopher has shared the stage with an impressive array of artists from a broad range of genres. Collaborations with renowned musicians like Phil Lesh of the legendary rock band The Grateful Dead, as well as jazz heavy weights like Danilo Perez, Terri Lyne Carrington, Ralph Peterson Jr., Stefon Harris, Benny Green, Art Lande and jazz fusion trumpeter Tiger Okoshi are just a small part of his rich musical tapestry. Christopher's compelling stage presence has even led to memorable performances alongside some of his own personal saxophone idols, including Lenny Pickett (musical director of the Saturday Night Live band and member of Tower Of Power), Joe Lovano, Eddie Daniels, and David Binney.
Christopher Almada brings this wealth of experience and a deep passion for music to his role as a music educator. With nearly two decades of teaching experience, he has been a mentor to students of all ages. Lesson plans are tailored to meet the student's unique needs - whether you are a music enthusiast looking to enjoy a new hobby, a high school student preparing for a competitive college and professional atmosphere, or a working professional seeking refinement. Christopher takes immense pride in nurturing his students' talents and bearing witness to their successes.
Elizabeth Angell
Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, and Beginning Piano

Elizabeth Angell is excited to pass along her experience as a clarinetist to new, intermediate and advanced clarinet students at JAMS Music. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from California State University East Bay, where she studied clarinet, bass clarinet and contra-clarinet under Diane Maltester. In addition, she completed instrumental and vocal methods courses for music education.
Her exceptional interpersonal skills help build a great rapport with her students and their parents. Although primarily a clarinetist, Elizabeth is trained and experienced on piano as well. She also specializes in teaching early childhood music as well as students with specials needs. Through her years of performance and study, she has a comprehensive knowledge base of both traditional and contemporary church music.
Elizabeth volunteers as a church musician where she has the opportunity to perform monthly on vocals with a team of other skilled musicians.
Solomon Alber
Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute

Solomon is an exceptional saxophonist and clarinetist who has performed at venues and music festivals across the United States and internationally. A dedicated woodwind musician and teacher based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Solomon has been teaching for four years and
performing professionally for a decade. He connects with students through a unique songbook brimming with fun, exciting compositions – all part of his innovative Eklectric Music Method. Solomon's Eklectric Music Method helps guide students towards unlocking a world of music and
their creativity across a tapestry of melodies and rhythms. With the goal of keeping fun and improvement at the forefront, Solomon guides students on a journey to master the fundamentals – sound production, music theory, rhythm, and notation reading – keeping the process engaging and enjoyable every step of the way.
Most recently, Solomon received his Master's Degree from the prestigious Jazz Department at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. As a performer and educator, his passion for teaching music continues to inspire students of all levels, shaping their musical journeys with
creativity and excellence.
