My first time in the store was first thing in morning during visit to family, John was in that morning and was knowledgeable of all he sold. Patient with me as I checked out a few guitars and saw the Mesa dual rectifier sitting on the way, I left asking for a card and to buy cool store magnet guitar shaped. He said you can have it cool thanks I said leaving the store. Long story short I bought the Mesa dual rectifier at a great price and they shipped in to me going the extra mile to get a new box from Mesa to ship it to me in LA. (Your awesome John thx). As a whole a great experience. Recommend to all . I’ll be dropping by when I’m in town from now on.

Took my Breedlove guitar here to install a new pickup and do some fretwork. Could not be happier with quality of the work and service.

Definitely my most favorite music store of all times! I’ve been taking drum lessons at JAMS for about 2 years now and have excelled beyond my expectations. As for purchasing instruments, I’ve purchased my fair share over the years, due to the knowledge and expertise of the staff I’ve got exactly what I needed/wanted

Brian Hart, the JAMS String Tech, is a wizard. I took in a budget Takamine GS-330S that’s never played particularly well in the decade+ that I’ve owned it. I’d recently taken it to another shop in town and they told me it was a lost cause. I figured I’d get it looked at one more time before giving up on it. Well, Brian was able to take a pretty rough player and turn it into a joy.

The rest of the shop is great; the vibe is low pressure and the staff is willing to answer questions patiently. The lesson rooms are in a separate space in the same shopping center and are very nice.

Overall, a great shop and I’m glad they’re in town. And if you need a guitar worked on, start there.

Came in just to look around and my wife was curious about the ukuleles. They took the time to explain the differences in the quality of ukuleles they carried and was able to special order the type and color my wife wanted. They even showed us different types of sheet music and beginners lesson books. Great service. Great products.

Well run store with knowledgeable staff. Their stock isn’t like Guitar Center, which works just fine here. What they have is high-value, so they’re going for quality and relevance instead of trying to hit every price point imaginable. Great store for the East Bay.
