STEVE KRITZER

Acoustic and Classical Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, & Banjo

Steve Kritzer is a veteran of the Bay Area music scene. He has entertained audiences around the world, , recorded 5 award winning CD’s, and has been a highly-respected teacher for over 25 years, known for his professional yet friendly teaching style and ability to mold lessons to each students personal needs and abilities.

His teaching abilities include acoustic and electric Guitar (specializing in folk, Travis picking, bluegrass, swing, Celtic, and classic pop and rock), Mandolin, Banjo, Ukulele, Bass, Songwriting, ensemble playing, Contemporary Christian repertoire, and theory, welcoming everyone from beginners to advanced on all instruments. He looks forward to working with you on your musical journey.

Steve Kritzer is available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.


Justin Sakogawa

Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, & Ukulele

Justin Sakogawa is a Bay Area heavy metal guitarist that has been playing since 2003, teaching since 2005 and leading group band classes since 2009. He holds an AA Music degree from Las Positas College, appeared on 8 studio albums and has toured extensively across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

With nearly 2 decades of teaching experience, Justin will help you achieve and crush your musical goals. From breaking down complex music theory concepts to proper practice regiments, instrument care, recording etiquette and beyond, he is here to custom tailor an approach to music specifically for your learning style and needs. You'll see that if you have the drive and passion for music and guitar you'll actually never "practice" a day in your life but rather play every time!

Justin Sakogawa is available to teach in the styles of blues, rock, metal and jazz fusion Tuesday through Saturday.

SCOTT LONDON

Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Beginner Bass Guitar

Scott London is excited to pass along his wealth of experience and knowledge as a professional teachers and artist to all of his students. With over twenty-five years of experience, Scott is ready to help students of all ages, styles and skill levels. He delivers customized experiences to his students to meet their desires and grow their abilities. When you take lessons with Scott, his light-hearted and friendly approach to teaching is sure to enhance each student’s joy, understanding and appreciation of music.

In addition, Scott has shared the stage with various bands including Thin Lizzy, Eddie Money, Gamma, Greg Kinn, Foghat, Michael Schenker, Mr. Big, Y&T, and many more. If you’re ready to get serious about guitar, then Scott London can help you out.

Scott London is available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.


mARGARET sCRANTON

Acoustic, Electric, and Classical Guitar, Beginner Bass Guitar, & Ukulele

Margaret Scranton has played guitar ever since she was a young girl. With over thirty years of professional playing and performance experience, she’s taught privately for almost fifteen years to enthusiastic guitarists in the East Bay of all ages and skill levels. She’s always expanding her knowledge of guitar and music by studying under numerous instructors over the years. Her teaching style focuses on each student’s interests, technique and building confidence. She’ll work on melodies, chords, music theory, songwriting and improvisation with material that keep the student engaged in learning. Not all students learn the same way, and Margaret uses different tools to help students grasp new concepts in a way they can use.

As a writer and composer, Margaret has played in multiple groups including four all female groups; Mother Earth, Crazy Daisies, Honeyshot and the Hormones (a Ramones tribute band).  In 2007, she formed her own group called, Scranton, writing and playing lead guitar. She was written up in Guitar Player magazine in 2009 for a song on her solo EP "Born Ready." Margaret’s energy and positive attitude comes across in an encouraging environment for learning music. She looks forward to sharing her passion for music with you.

Margaret Scranton is available on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.


Anisa De Ramos

Classical, Acoustic, & Electric Guitar

Anisa DeRamos is a Classical Guitarist from San Leandro California. Anisa has been playing guitar for 14 years. She started playing rock and metal music in middle school and in college picked up classical guitar. Anisa has received her music education from Chabot College and Cal State East Bay studying classical guitar under Richard Flores and Marc Tiecholz. 

Anisa also has experience teaching classical and acoustic guitar for several years. Teaching all age groups from kids, teens, and adults. As a teacher Anisa wants to teach her students proper classical and acoustic guitar technique while also having fun and playing music that her students look forward to learning and playing.

Anisa is available to teach Classical, Acoustic and Electric Guitar Fridays and Saturdays.
